Ali joined Tadjer Cohen Edelson Associates, Inc. in 1981 and is a principal in the firm. He is involved in designing residential, industrial, commercial, garage, and educational buildings; including high rise buildings such as large hotels, apartment and office buildings of structural steel, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed and post tensioned concrete, and wood. Duties involve structural analysis and design, investigation and evaluation of existing structures.
Ali was adjunct professor in the Engineering Department at Catholic University, Washington, DC. He taught civil engineering courses "Design of Structural Elements" and "Design of Structural Systems" to undergraduate and graduate students.
