Renovation and addition of 430,000 gsf on the existing eight story building. The existing building had three distinct sections (the west, the east and the middle). The middle and the west buildings comprise the Museum of the Bible. The middle building was completely demolished and rebuilt with larger spans, (about 50'-0). Basement of the west building was lowered by five feet and alternate floors above the ground floor were demolished to achieve twenty feet floor to floor, and two new floors and roof were added. All the columns and exterior walls were strengthened. One new level was added above the east building roof level. There is a new theater at the 5th floor level towards the west side of the building and a Restaurant, biblical garden and new roof with a curved steel structure for a gallery at the 6th floor level in the east part of the building. In addition there is a hanging monumental stair that connects each floor at the east part of the building.
