Project Overview
A companion adaptive reuse and selective vertical expansion of the existing building at 1050 Thomas Jefferson, NW. The project retains and renovates 214,700 gsf of existing above-grade structure while adding 23,220 gsf of new construction. Scope includes strengthening of selected existing columns and addition of new shear walls around elevators. The existing below-grade garage remains largely unmodified. TCE provided complete structural design for both the renovation/strengthening of the existing building and the limited vertical addition, coordinated with the simultaneous work at 1000 Thomas Jefferson.
