Project Overview
Adaptive reuse of two existing six- to seven-story office buildings on the Georgetown waterfront (1000 & 1050 Thomas Jefferson), with potential for one- to two-story additions. Multiple options were studied involving combinations of retained existing structure and new construction (up to ≈267,000 gsf above grade per scenario). TCE provided structural engineering for both renovation of existing fabric and new addition strategies.
Structural Highlights
- Adaptive reuse structural design for two existing 6–7 story office buildings
- Options including retained structure + new construction up to ≈267,000 gsf above grade
- Below-grade parking integration
- Georgetown waterfront context-sensitive design
