Project Overview

A major adaptive reuse and vertical expansion of the existing building at 1000 Thomas Jefferson, NW on the Georgetown waterfront. The project retains and renovates 124,350 gsf of existing above-grade structure while adding 65,850 gsf of new construction (up to four new floors). Scope includes significant structural strengthening of existing footings and approximately 75% of existing columns from levels 1–5, plus new shear walls around stairs and elevators. The existing below-grade garage remains largely unmodified. TCE provided complete structural design for both the renovation/strengthening of the existing building and the new vertical addition.
