The 6700 Rockledge parking garage is a stand-alone structure at the east side of the office complex. It consists of four levels with one level completely below grade, another partially below grade, and the rest above grade. The three elevated levels are constructed of post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams supported by conventionally reinforced concrete columns and foundation walls. The perimeter walls are constructed of precast reinforced concrete panels.
TCE performed a condition survey of the garage due to concerns of spalling of concrete and exposed post-tension cables. During the condition survey, areas of spalling concrete, deteriorated post-tensioned elements, and failed expansion joint seals were found. TCE developed a repair program to restore the post-tensioned slabs and beams, to repair foundation walls and columns, to replace deteriorated expansion joints, and to address other deficiencies noted in the parking garage. In addition, the repair program included application of a vehicular traffic bearing urethane coating to minimize potential for future deterioration.
